Our Location

John G. Clarke, Clarksburg’s namesake, was a prominent leader during Clarksburg's founding. Recognizing the potential for Clarksburg to attract those traveling from Frederick to Georgetown, Clarke built a general store, served as County Commissioner & Justice of the Peace, and became the town's first postmaster. His efforts are commemorated at Clarksburg Town Center with a dedication plaque.
